Training Structure

  • Face-to-Face Classes: Classes are scheduled and delivered in a suitable campus location, attendance is face-to-face, conducted in a formal class format, providing structured learning, practice and assessment under trainer direction and supervision.
  • Online Learning: Learners attend synchronous learning in an online classroom accessed by Zoom (or equivalent). Online classes are conducted under trainer supervision and facilitation.

Assessment Tasks

Assessment may include:

  • written knowledge assessments
  • practical diagnostic tasks
  • direct observation of practical performance
  • simulated workplace activities
  • case studies and scenario based tasks

Students are assessed progressively throughout the course to confirm they have achieved the required competency standards.

Once we receive this, we will send you an invoice for the first payment. Once the payment is received, we will issue you with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter.

The first day of each course will include orientation and induction. Orientation will include information about the campus, living in Australia, accessing our support services and methods for achieving success throughout the course, including course progress requirements.

This qualification is suited to students who have already completed AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or who have equivalent automotive industry skills and knowledge.

Students will learn to:

  • identify and confirm complex vehicle system faults
  • conduct diagnostic testing using appropriate tools and procedures
  • diagnose complex faults in light vehicle safety systems
  • diagnose braking, steering, suspension, petrol and diesel engine faults
  • diagnose automatic transmission and driveline system faults
  • diagnose integrated stability control and engine management faults
  • apply environmental and sustainability practices within automotive workplaces

This qualification consists of 10 units of competency, including:
